Tim Wappenhans is a research fellow at the Chair of Comparative Politics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and a PhD candidate at the Research Training Group "The Dynamics of Demography, Democratic Processes and Public Policy" (DYNAMICS), jointly organized by the Hertie School and the Department of Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
During his studies, Tim Wappenhans worked as a Student Assistant at the Chair of Quantitative Social Research, the Chair of Comparative Politics, as well as at the Cluster of Excellence Contestation of the Liberal Scripts (SCRIPTS).
Before receiving a BA and MA in Social Sciences from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, he acquired a BA in Cultural History and Theory and European Ethnology from Humboldt and studied at Portland State University, Oregon.
His main research interest lies in political behavior with a focus on political identities and polarization.
