Jean Monnet Chair: Shaping the EU`s functionality and trust - internal reforms and policies for further enlargement (ShapingEU)

Between 2023 and 2026, the ShapingEU Chair project aims to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the internal and external challenges that the European Union is facing. These challenges include the ongoing war in Ukraine, competition with China, the EU's engagement with its neighborhood in the Western Balkans, the EU's capacity to integrate new member states, and the responses from EU institutions. The primary objective of ShapingEU is to bridge existing knowledge gaps regarding the interconnectedness of EU enlargement and internal reforms, particularly in areas concerning the rule of law, democratic procedures, and fundamental rights. This objective will be pursued through educational initiatives targeting students and, by fostering dialogue with non-academic partners and broader audiences.

Jean Monnet Module: Investigating EU Policies to foster the Rule of Law (EU4Law)

The Jean Monnet Module "Investigating EU Policies to Foster the Rule of Law" examines the policies, activities, and tools employed by the EU Commission, the EU Parliament, the Council of Europe, and the Court of Justice of the European Union pertaining to the rule of law between 2020 and 2023. The project encompasses teaching, research, and public debate initiatives.

 

Peace Dialogue Campus Network: Fostering Positive Attitudes between Migrants and Youth in Hosting Societies (Peacemakers)

The PEACEMAKERS project aims to foster a more peaceful generation in Europe and in Turkey among student with and without refugee experiences. It aims to achieve this objective by training a group of participating students as Peace Envoys. They are suppsed to develop problem-solving capacities, critical thinking and collaborative working skills through rigorous academic preparation, experiential education and leadership development. The project aims to provide students with the education, training, and experiences needed to better understand, negotiate and resolve conflicts in order to have more positive attitudes towards migrants.

Jean Monnet Network “Enhancing Visibility of the Academic Dialogue on EU-Turkey Cooperation” (VIADUCT)

VIADUCT was a project aiming at creating an academic network linking universities and think-tanks from the EU, Turkey and the neighbourhood to build knowledge on a deeper EU-Turkey Cooperation.
