Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Department of Social Sciences

Application and Enrolment

After nomination by your home university, potential exchange students must take part in an online application process. The application window for applications for the winter semester or for the entire year runs from April 1st to May 31st, and for the summer semester from October 1st to November 30th.

The confirmation will be send to you to the following dates:

  • for winter semester: until the end of July
  • for summer semester: until the end of January

The applications, including results of the language test (see below), are reviewed and the applicant will receive an answer by email from the International Office within the application processing window. This nomination, with which the HU confirms the choice of department, must be signed by the ERASMUS coordinator of the home university and stamped (with an official university stamp) as well as signed by the applicant. Finally, the nomination document must be sent to the address given in the nomination email.

A comprehensive step-by-step guide to the process is available on the website of the International Office.

Please note, that this process is handled by the International Office of the Humboldt University. We as a department are happy to help, but cannot issue confirmations or let you know how far along your application is. If you have any questions, please reach out to this contact information.
