Abstract:
This ethnographic study will seek to understand how Turkish women in Berlin construct the idea of space and in what ways they use the public space. By revealing how they define their socio-spatial environment it will try to explore whether these women claim any public space according to their culture and religion or not. If they have a claim on the urban space, it will search for the tactics they generate in their everyday lives to demand their rights to the city. Yet, if not, then it will seek for the reasons behind the lack of their claims.
