How to Submit

   

BGSS Working Paper Series

We invite researchers from the BGSS and affiliated institutions to submit manuscripts to the BGSS Working Paper Series. Contributions are welcome from diverse fields of research in political science and sociology using various methodological approaches. We accept both research articles and focused literature reviews. Papers are reviewed and published on a rolling basis. Should you have any questions regarding manuscript submission or the review process please contact us at bgsspubl(at)cms.hu-berlin.de

Manuscript Guidelines

  • Manuscripts can be submitted in English or German, preferably in Word format.
  • Word count between 8,000-10,000 words (including all notes and references)
  • Two abstracts of 200-250 words, in English and German
  • Five keywords each, in English and German
  • Main text 1,5 spaced and justified on both margins (Blocksatz)
  • Font: Arial 11pt for the main text and Arial 9pt for footnotes
  • Please avoid using more than three levels of sub-headings (1./1.1/1.1.1).

 

Style Guidelines
Please document your references in accordance with the guidelines set by the Chicago Manual of Style (English) or the Politische Vierteljahresschrift (German).

 

 

Berlin Reviews in Social Sciences

If you are interested in writing for the Berlin Reviews in Social Sciences, please send your review suggestion and a short explanation of why the particular book should be reviewed to barbora.kimakova(at)sowi.hu-berlin.de. You will be contacted shortly with further information on the publication process.

Book Review Guidelines

  • Manuscripts can be submitted in English or German, preferably in Word format.
  • Reviews should be 4,000-6,000 characters in length
  • Main text 1,5 spaced and justified on both margins (Blocksatz)
  • Font: Arial 11pt for the main text and Arial 9pt for footnotes
  • Please include your name, institutional affiliation, and the book details in the heading of your review (author, title, place of publication, publisher, year of publication, number of pages and ISBN).
