Craig Calhoun, Einstein Visiting Fellow and Director of the London School of Economics and Michael Mann, Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the University of California Los Angeles have recently published a new book asking "Does Capitalism Have a Future?" Along with Immanuel Wallerstein, Randall Collins and Georgi Derluguian, the authors examine whether the capitalist system can survive the medium run and challenge the conventional wisdom that assumes there is no real alternative. In doing so, the book considers the possibility of a radical world historical shift. Hosted by NYLON Berlin/Einstein Research Group at the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences, the panel will offer an intimate discussion of Calhoun and Mann's responses to this pressing issue.
